The process

Booking a wedding cake is so much more than just choosing your design and flavours, although that is rather fun! It’s about working together to create something that represents both of you as a couple, that not just looks nice, but tastes amazing too!

From the moment you spot my cakes, whether this be at a wedding showcase or on our social media, we ensure you that we are by your side to help you through the whole process so you can well and truly have your cake and eat it!

Take a look below at the step by step process of how things work when you enquire about your wedding cake with me

How it works

As soon as you have booked your venue it is best to get in touch to check my availability. Dates can book up quickly, especially in peak wedding season, and I do limit the number of cakes I make each week to ensure I can give each one the love and attention they deserve.

If you like my work and know you would like to book me to make your wedding cake, then you can secure your date with a non-refundable deposit of £50 once a consultation has been held and your cake elements have been discussed.

Step One

If you haven’t done so already, pop over an enquiry to check if your date is available. We will then ask you some details about your day including what your ideas and inspirations are for your wedding cake. You might have an idea of what you are wanting to go for or if at this stage you’re still not sure, don’t worry as I can help with the design. Any ideas at this point will help me to work out a rough quote based on the information you have provided.

Step Two

STEP TWO We will arrange a consultation appointment, which usually takes place face to face or this can be done online. Your ideas can change during the planning of your wedding so I recommend that it is best to have your colours, flowers and decor/style sorted before deciding on the design of your cake. If you would like to have a taster box, this will also be done at this stage. Our boxes are available at set times throughout the year. These contain 6 set flavours to help you choose your wedding cake flavours.

Step Three

STEP THREE During your consultation, we will finalise all of your design details for your wedding cake. Your quote will also be given during this. Once your deposit is paid, this secures your cake into our diary. It is now time to sit back and relax whilst we do the rest! Once the design has been finalised, I will begin working on a digital sketch based on everything which we have discussed. This will help you visualise your wedding cake. Don’t worry, we can tweak the design to get this exactly how you want them.

Step Four

STEP FOUR It is now a countdown to seeing your cake in real life! Between now and the big day, I will be doing lots of things behind the scenes putting things in place for the making of your wedding cake. A month prior to your wedding date I will be in touch to run through all the details to confirm the everything is correct. This is also when your remaining balance is due. After that all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your wedding day…with a slice of cake, of course!
